Is this an abuse of your system?

terell davisI have known a lot of working folks with legitimate work place injuries who have tried to get California Workers Comp benefits.

I always thought our California Workers Comp system was set up to help the working person in need. Someone who needed a little help when he or she was injured on the job. Something to sort of hold them over until they healed up and could get back to work.

So why did the NFL Super Bowl MVP Terrell Davis of the Denver Broncos, a running back who signed a $6.8 million contract for playing football, who also made a fortune in endorsements including a deal with Campbell’s soup, and who has since retired and is appearing in movies and TV shows – why has he received a $199,000 injury settlement from a California Workers Compensation court for injuries he claims he received playing in the couple of football games in California?

If you don’t believe me, take a look at the article today where it was reported: Professional athletes cashing in on worker’s comp in California

We want to hear what you think. Is this honest? Is it moral? Is it right?

Higher Legal was started to help people with legitimate claims find honest lawyers.

(Guess what, we didn’t represent Mr. Davis)
